In Art & Design young people develop interests and explore values through a range of creative and problem solving activities. They enjoy extensive choice through activities which develop two and three dimensional skills and concepts, and which include high quality ICT experiences. Importantly, pupils undertake group activities which emphasise team building, critical analysis and concept planning. Emphasis is placed on developing young people’s drawing skills and encouraging independent learning. Young people engage in information gathering and skills development, in understanding their world and responding to it through using visual media. Hopefully young people will become confident in taking appropriate risks and develop unique ways of seeing their world.
